In this picture published by Japanese newspaper Yomiuri Shimbun in 1945, the Japanese troops travel south along China's Wuchang-Guangzhou Railway Line. On Jan. 3, 1945, Chinese and Japanese armies engaged in a decisive battle in south Jiangxi Province. On Jan. 24, Japanese troops landed in Haifeng, Guangdong Province, and made an opening in the Wuchang-Guangzhou Railway Line. [File photo] |
