Founded in 1911, Tsinghua University is considered by many to be the best university in China. Covering 356 hectares, it is also one of the largest universities in China. Many celebrities have graduated from or worked at Tsinghua, including Nobel laureates Tsung-Dao Lee and Yang Zhenning, former Chinese president Hu Jintao and author Wen Yiduo.
As one of the nine universities in the C9 League, Tsinghua University boasts one of the most comprehensive schools, as well as great capacity for fostering talent and scientific research. It contains 14 schools and 56 departments with faculties in science, engineering, humanities, medicine and economics.
