The China University Rankings 2014 have been recently published by Chinese researcher Wu Shulian and his team of the China University Assessment.
Peking University this time surpassed Zhejiang University to top the charts in terms of overall strength, with a total score of 204.98. This was the first time for the university to regain its No. 1 spot after ranking first in 1993, when the first edition of its kind was published.
Zhejiang University ranked second, with a total score of 200.54, followed by Tsinghua University. Its drop in ranking was mainly because its number of teachers was less than those of the Peking University and Tsinghua University.
Shandong University edged into the top 10 for the first time, taking up the 10th spot. The Southwestern University of Finance and Economics climbed into the top 100 list this year, ranking 98th.
