Chang'e 3, which is carrying moon rover "Yutu" (Jade Rabbit), was successfully launched on Dec. 2 from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center. It landed on the moon on the night of Dec. 15, marking the first time that China has sent a spacecraft to soft land on the surface of an extraterrestrial body. After the mission, China's lunar program will enter a new stage of unmanned automatic sampling and return, which will include Chang'e 5 and 6 missions. [photo / Xinhua] |
