First international forum on clean energy kicks off

The first International Forum on Sustainable Development of Energy will be held in Beijing on May 19, organized by SUC Programme Management Center/SUC PMC in partnership with the United Nations Office for Sustainable Development/UNOSD, advised by International Energy Agency/IEA and sponsored by China LNG Group and China CEFC Energy Company. It is learned that the forum will be the first international forum focusing on the development of clean energy sector since the implementation of UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The forum is to build an international platform for exchanges on sustainable development of the energy sector and promote development of sustainable cities and communities of high resource and energy efficiency with the purpose of “Win-win Cooperation and Low-carbon Development”. It will set the stage for deep cooperation among global LNG superior industry chains and provide reference for the Chinese government in terms of LNG policies through keynote speech, policy study, high-level dialogue, technical exchange and business partnership.

According to the forum organizing committee, invited participants include leaders from the United Nations, IEA and the Climate Group, counselors from embassies in China, officials from China National Reform and Development Commission, National Energy Administration and Ministry of Transport and representatives from research institutes, leading enterprises, multinational corporations and media, with a scale of nearly 200 guests. During the forum, insights and practical advice will be shared among participants with regard to development trend, policy orientation and international cooperation of LNG in China.
