Egypt Reports 4 More Cases of A/H1N1 Virus

Egypt reported on Thursday four more cases of influenza A/H1N1, bringing the total number of the flu in the populous country to 48, Ministry of Health said in statement.
According to the statement, the four cases include a 5-year-oldBritish girl arriving with her family in Sharm el-Sheikh on June 22, a 4-years-old Egyptian-American girl arriving in Cairo on June21, a 52-years-old Egyptian American woman arriving in Cairo on June 20, and a 19-years-old British man arriving in Sharm el-Sheikh on June 24.
The Ministry spokesman Abdel Rahman Shahine said that the health conditions of the four patients are stable after proper treatment.
On June 2, Egypt reported its first A/H1N1 flu case, which was a 12-years-old Egyptian-American girl coming from the US via the Netherlands.
Egypt decided in late April to cull all pigs in the country to stem the highly infectious flu.
The World Health Organization on Wednesday reported a total of 55,867 A/H1N1 flu cases in 109 countries, including 238 deaths.
