Three people who were suspected to have been infected with A/H1N1 flu virus and quarantined at New Delhi airport have tested negative the flu, a statement by Indian Health Ministry said on Saturday evening.

Meanwhile, the samples of a fourth passenger are still under test and awaiting results, said the ministry in a statement.

A total of 33,936 passengers have been screened so far, with 126 doctors and 71 paramedics having been deployed to man 51 counters at all international airports across the country, said the ministry.

Three passengers, two flying in from Chicago and one from London, were quarantined by Indian authorities at the Ram Manohar Lohia hospital in New Delhi for classical symptoms of H1N1 flu infection, reported the local newspaper Times of India on Saturday.

The fourth passenger, a 25-year-old youth who arrived in the country last month, has been admitted to the same hospital with possible symptoms of the condition, Health Ministry officials said earlier on Saturday.

But local TV NDTV said earlier that Ram Manohar Lohia hospital said two among the four patients have grown liver problems in conformity with described symptoms of the flu.
