3. Assets, liabilities and equity
By the end of 2008，the assets of industrial enterprises totaled 47,304.83 billion yuan, the liabilities 26,891.92 billion yuan and the equity〔1〕 20,407.63 billion yuan, which increased by 96.5 percent, 96.6 percent and 96.4 percent over the 2004 respectively. (see table 4)
Asset-liability ratio is 50.0 percent for industrial enterprises in mining，56.6 percent for manufacturing, and 62.2 percent for production and supply of electricity, gas and water.
