Last year’s photo exhibition was titled “Lending Spotlight: Poverty Relief Through a Lens”. Hosted by China Development Gateway and supported by The World Bank, China International Publishing Group, and China.org.cn, during the 4 month long submission period we have received a total of 152 works. 75 participants across 32 countries submitted wonderful photos of which 124 were published on our website.

Visitors from nearly 70 countries viewed submissions on the effects of poverty on climate change, disaster, children, women, and education. Although these issues may not be truly applicable to every country, people all over the world were able to see the rampant effects of poverty in countries such as India, Bangladesh, Mexico, and so forth. The exhibition’s ability to change perceptions has lead to a second photo exhibition this year. Stay tuned for details!
