Liang Dongmei is 41-years-old with a senior middle school education. Lian hails from Kunming City of southwestern China's Yunnan Province.

Liang used to work on the street side selling handbags, but in 2003 qualified for a micro-credit loan of 4,000 yuan with the help of Yunnan Xieshou Micro-enterprise Development Service Center. Liang opened a store with the money with an annual net income of 12,600 yuan.

In 2004, Liang Dongmei was elected as a customer representative participating in the Kunming Import & Export Commodities Fair, organized by Yunnan Xieshou Micro-enterprise Development Service Center. While in attendance she learned how to improve her business, and applied for an additional loan of 8,000 yuan. That year her income increased to 61,800 yuan.

Liang applied a third loan of 10,000 yuan and added beaded bags to her store's product line, which were well received by the market. She earned a net income of 165,000 yuan in 2005. She applied a loan of 10,000 yuan in 2006 and expanded her store to four rooms with six employees, and posted an annual net income of 214,000 yuan in 2006.

Liang Dongmei is not yet satisfied with her success. She plans to explore new programs and will pay close attention to the market and searches for better development with the back of microcredit.
