NPC deputy Xu Jingren, also Chairman and General Manager of Yangtze River Pharmaceutical Group, noted the pharmaceutical industry is a "conscience trade" because its products make a difference in people's health.
NPC deputy Yu Pei said China has a wealth of cultural resources and heritage, but compared with its foreign trade surplus, its overseas cultural exchange is running a serious "deficit".
"Inappropriate mining practices are rampant nowadays, resulting in a great waste of resources as well as severe environmental pollution," said An Dong, who is a deputy to the National People's Congress.
