Yang, a 40-year-old villager from Pulu village, went to work in Zhejiang Province at the age of 17 because his family was poor. In 2015, He returned home with his family and devoted himself to sericulture after learning that his hometown was promoting industrial restructuring and encouraging farmers to plant mulberry and raise silkworms. In 2018, Yang encouraged 50 farmers to join in raising silkworms, making “silkworm babies” the “golden babies” which lift them out of poverty. Next, he will lead his fellow villagers to work persistently on the way of acquiring wealth. (Xinhua/Wang Chunliang)
