Fighters Against Poverty in 2018

Chinagate.cn,July 25, 2019 Adjust font size:

The new era is for strivers. Only strivers can leave their trails in history.

2018 is a crucial year in the fight against poverty. Poverty fighters have worked hard with wisdom and passion, strove ahead with full energy and pursued a better life.

Wang Enhai (right), a 63-year-old villager of Quanfa in Quchi Township, Wushan County of Chongqing, is loading the vehicle with fresh crispy plums.

In recent years, Wushan highlights plum industry as an important way for farmers to get rid of poverty. Wang used to live in poverty. By constantly learning the skills of plum cultivation and management, he has planted plum trees in his plots of barren hill and field. Now, he is already an owner of a 1.6-acre plum orchard which can yield an annual output value of around 100,000 yuan. With his life getting increasingly better, Wang also teaches his fellow villagers how to grow and manage plums to help them out of poverty. (Xinhua/Wang Quanchao)
