Professor Gerald A. McDermott from the Darla Moore School of Business of USC pointed out that the digital economy is breaking the traditional concept of borders and the organizational structure of enterprises, industries and countries." Technology can shape but does not determine paths of development and strategies, so the core frameworks in social science and business strategies should still depend on analysis for identifying global risks and opportunities, dynamic value chains across countries, and potential investments in different regions," he said.
