Professor Sun Baowen, director of the China Center for Internet Economy Research in the Central University of Finance and Economics, shared with the audience his understanding of the essence of the digital economy. He defined the digital economy as a new economic form with information, knowledge and technology as the key factors, which can improve the efficiency and quality of economic operationsby optimizing and restructuring the whole process of production, consumption and circulation.

"It also brings new problems ofsupervision and governance, such as platform monopolies, unfair competition, protecting personal information, and confirming rights in online transaction data," Sun said. "Interconnection and intelligence are the two features of the era."
