LUSAKA, April 19 (Xinhua) -- The following are news highlights in Zambia's major media outlets on Thursday

--Zambian Vice-President Inonge Wina said she has no intention of seeking election as the country's president, saying it was now time to pass the baton to the younger generation.

Wina, 77, and Zambia's first female vice-president, said she has no presidential ambitions as she feels she has done her part in various roles she has played in the country. (Times of Zambia)

--Zambia intends to plant 60 million trees in the next two years in an effort to mitigate effects of climate change.

Minister of Higher Education Nkandu Luo said when she opened a Southern African Science Service Center for Climate Change and Adaptive Land Management symposium that the trees will be planted under the "Plant Million Trees Program" to be launched by President Edgar Lungu later this month. --A cholera outbreak in Zambia has so far claimed 112 lives, with 5,762 cases recorded since October last year, a health official has said.

Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary in Charge of Administration Kennedy Malama while acknowledging that the outbreak has not yet been contained noted that significant efforts have been made to contain the disease. (Daily Nation)

--Coach of the Zambia Under-20 national soccer team says qualifying for the 2019 Niger Africa Cup of Nations was a must.
