Singaporean stocks close 0.26 pct lower

SINGAPORE, March 26 (Xinhua) -- Singaporean stocks closed lower on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going down 0.26 percent, or 8.93 points, to close at 3,412.46.

A total of 1.37 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.36 billion Singapore dollars (about 1.04 billion U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 214 to 210.

The STI index closed down 2 percent, or 69.98 points, to close at 3,421.39 last Friday. Enditem
