Singapore stocks close 0.06 pct lower

SINGAPORE, March 21 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going down 0.06 percent, or 2.18 points, to close at 3,511.13.

A total of 1.37 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 923.6 million Singapore dollars (about 700.71 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 232 to 175.

The STI index closed up 0.43 percent, or 15.02 points, to close at 3,513.31 on Tuesday. Enditem
