KUALA LUMPUR -- A sand mining vessel capsized Wednesday morning in the waters off Malaysia in the Malacca Strait, leaving at least 10 crew members missing, according to officials from the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA).

There were 18 crew members on the vessel, including one Malaysian, one Indonesian and 16 Chinese citizens. Three have been rescued, one was found dead and 11 remained missing, said MMEA. (Malaysia-Boat-Capsize)

YANGON -- Myanmar President U Htin Kyaw has resigned from post to take a rest, according to an official release of the President Office on Wednesday.

The vacant presidency post is to be filled within seven days in accordance with the constitution, U Zaw Htay, director-general of the President Office told Xinhua. (Myanmar-President-Resignation)

SEOUL -- South Korean President Moon Jae-in hinted Wednesday at a possible trilateral summit with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the United States under situations that make progress.

TIKRIT, Iraq -- Six people were killed and 13 others injured by the extremist Islamic State militants who opened fire on civilians on a main road near Iraqi ethnically mixed town of Tuz-Khurmato in Iraq's central province of Salahudin, a provincial security source said on Wednesday.

The incident took place late on Tuesday night when militants attacked a number of civilian cars outside a restaurant in northern Tuz-Khurmato, Major Ali al-Baiyati from Salahudin's provincial police told Xinhua. (Iraq-IS-Attack)
