LUSAKA, March 21 (Xinhua) -- The following are news highlights in Zambia's major media outlets on Wednesday

--Zambian President Edgar Lungu said his government was eager to learn from Israel on how to develop the defense force so that it contributes to the country's economic development.

Lungu said when visiting Israel Minister of Defense Avigdoe Libermaan paid a courtesy call on him that Zambia should learn from the military in Israel which has been at the center of industrialization, technology, growth and economic advancement. (Daily Nation)

--The Zambian government has called for intensified sensitization on the importance of nuclear technology to remove the misconception surrounding its introduction in the country.

Minister of Agriculture Michael Katambo said there was need for massive sensitizations and that implementation of nuclear technology was part of government's diversification program to enhance sustainable economic development. (Zambia Daily Mail)

--An opposition political party has called for an inquiry into Zambian President Edgar Lungu's foreign trips after a local newspaper exposed alleged luxurious spending on one of his trips.

Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) chairperson for Chama district in eastern Zambia said the revelation of luxurious spending by Lungu's entourage during a trip to the United States of America for the United Nations General Assembly in September 2015 was a source of concern and that an inquiry should be established.
