MUMBAI, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) -- Indian markets closed higher Friday as benchmark indices extended in late trade, hitting fresh record highs on broadbased buying.

The benchmark S&P BSE Sensex closed at 34,153.85, 184.21 points or 0.54 percent up compared to its previous close at 33,969.64. Enditem
