CAIRO, Dec. 28 (Xinhua) -- Egypt on Thursday strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Russian city of St. Petersburg.

Egyptian foreign ministry said in a statement that Egypt stands by Russia in face of terrorism, wishing the injured quick recovery.

On Wednesday, an explosive device placed in a locker went off at supermarket in a shopping center in the northern part of St. Petersburg, injuring 13 people.

So far, no one has claimed responsibility for the blast.

The statement renewed Egypt's call for the need to unite international efforts to face terrorism and drain its sources of funding. Enditem
