BEIJING, Dec. 20 (Xinhua) -- The CBA powerhouse Liaoning suffered its second straight loss, a 111-99 defeat to Guangzhou in the 18th round of the 2017-2018 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Wednesday evening.

Sani Sakakini made his fast break and a three-pointer to start the match, helping the visiting Guangzhou lead 31-20 in the first quarter and never look back to seal the victory against sporadic moments of excitement by home players.

Sakakini had a game-high 31 points to lead five Guangzhou players scoring double digits, while point guard Guo Ailun only made seven points, his worst play of the season for Liaoning, which was led by Lester Hudson with 24 points.

Elsewhere, third-placed Shandong also suffered a shocking 115-111 home defeat to Qingdao, who ranked fifth from the bottom in the 20-team league.

Shenzhen had an easy win over Shanghai 90-71, as Jared Sullinger notched a double-double with 19 points and 17 rebounds for Shenzhen, while Shanghai had only two players scoring double-digit points. Enditem
