CHICAGO, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) -- To ease traffic congestion near Foxconn's planned 10 billion U.S. dollars manufacturing complex in Midwest U.S. state of Wisconsin, the state Department of Transportation (DOT) has unveiled plans to build a new four-lane road connecting the factory and interstate highway I94.
State DOT officials on Thursday announced the plans for the road dubbed "Wisconn Valley Way" during an open house activity. They also provided details to upgrade I94 and state roads near Foxconn's proposed facility. Foxconn is a Taiwan-headquartered technology and manufacturing company.
According to the plans, the road for Foxconn Campus will have two lanes in each direction with adjacent bike and pedestrian paths on both sides.
The road is expected to cost around 30 million U.S. dollars and is planned for completion in 2019. The road will be paid with existing state transportation funds, officials said.
The government of Wisconsin and Foxconn inked the final contract for the display screen plant worth 10 billion U.S. dollars in November. According to the contract, Foxconn will hire 13,000 local workers. Enditem
