Chinese prevail at badminton World Series Finals

DUBAI, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- Chinese shuttlers continued their domination at the Dubai 2017 World Super Finals on Thursday, which kicked off Wednesday at the Hamdan Sports Complex in Dubai.

In the men's singles, Chinese world number eight Shi Yogi came back from one set down to beat world No. 1 and world champion Denmark's Viktor Axelson 2-1.

In the women's singles, Chinese He Bingjiao beat Japan's Akane Yamaguchi 2-1 while teammate Chen Yufei beat Sung Ji Hyun of South Korea 2-0.

In the men's doubles, China's Liu Cheng and Zhang Nan beat Japan's Takuro Hoki and Yugo Kobayashi 2-0, while in the women's doubles, Chen Qingchen and Jia Yifan beat South Korean duo Chang Ye Na and Lee So Hee 2-0.

After 12 legs of the series, the top eight players from each discipline qualified for the year-ending tournament, which has total prize of one million U.S. dollars. Enditem
