Afghan police arrest 11 drug smugglers within week

KABUL, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- Afghan Counter Narcotics Police (ACNP) have arrested 11 drug smugglers in different provinces over the past seven days, said a statement of Criminal Justice Task Force released here on Wednesday.

"The ACNP have arrested 11 people related to the nine cases of drug smuggling in Kabul, Takhar, Badakhshan, Nangarhar and Kandahar provinces over the past one week," the statement said.

Police have also seized about 700 kg narcotics including 16 kg heroin and 632 kg hashish from the possessions of the arrested suspects, the statement added. Enditem
