2 killed, 8 injured in road bus crash in northern India

Xinhua,December 13, 2017 Adjust font size:

NEW DELHI, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- At least two persons have been killed and eight others injured in a road accident in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, police said Wednesday.

"The accident occurred when a passenger bus rammed into a truck on Allahabad highway. Two passengers of the bus died on the spot in the impact of the crash," a police official said.

All the other injured, which included the driver of the bus, have been admitted to a nearby government hospital, where the condition of two is said to be critical, he said.

Eye-witnesses told cops that the bus was travelling at high speed and its driver lost control of the vehicle, leading to the accident.

A probe has been ordered into the incident, the official added.

Road accidents occur in India mostly due to poor driving or badly maintained roads and vehicles. Enditem
