Tokyo stocks edge lower in morning ahead of FOMC meeting conclusion

TOKYO, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks edged lower Wednesday morning as investors were in a circumspect mood ahead of the U.S. Federal Reserve's two-day Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting concluding later in the day.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average inched 59.69 points, or 0.26 percent lower, from Tuesday to 22,806.48.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, shed 1.35 points, or 0.07 percent, to 1,813.73.

Rubber product, mining and electric appliance-linked issues comprised those that declined the most by the morning break. Enditem
