LUSAKA, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- The following are news highlights in Zambia's major media outlets on Sunday.

-- Zambian President Edgar Lungu has warned that he will not condone corruption in his government because it poses a huge threat to the attainment of social development goals.

Lungu said during the commemoration of Anti-Corruption Day that he will not look kindly upon members of his government who take advantage of their positions to enrich themselves at the expense of the Zambian people. (Times of Zambia)

-- Zambia intends to construct a Cyber City aimed at attracting investment in technological research and practical skills development.

Minister of Transport and Communication Brian Mushimba said his ministry will partner with the Ministry of Higher Education and the Copperbelt University to support the construction and development of the Cyber City which will be a business innovation hub, comprising of workplaces, light manufacturing facilities, data center to catalyze educational research and innovation for small-scale enterprises. -- Police in Zambia's Kitwe city in the Copperbelt Province have arrested over 53 students from the Copperbelt University after they rioted over delayed allowances.

Copperbelt Police Commissioner Charity Katanga said the students were arrested after they started throwing stones at police officers who had been keeping vigil at the institution. (Daily Nation) Enditem
