KABUL, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- A medical and health exhibition kicked off in Kabul on Sunday, showcasing the latest medical equipments and health products.
"The main aim of holding Health and Pharma Expo 2017 in Kabul is to introduce the newest medical equipments and latest medical achievements," an organizer Azizullah told the audience and customers.
The four-day display was co-organized by Afghan Public Health Ministry and three local private medical institutions.
More than 50 local and international medical entities have stalls in the fair held at the Afghanistan Expo Center in Shar-e-Naw neighborhood in central Kabul.
During the exhibition, medical staff would also provide free medical instructions, blood tests and free vaccination to visitors.
Three decades of war had a devastating impact on the health sector in Afghanistan. Only 9 percent of Afghans had access to health care in 2003, but the number had been increased to 67 percent in 2016, according to official figures.
The event is scheduled to wrap up on Wednesday evening. Enditem
