Li Fugen, CIIC Vice President said in his opening remarks that the targeted poverty reduction strategy and the Belt and Road Initiative both aim to improve productivity in poor areas. The process is boosted by the rapid development of Information and Communication Technology (ICTs). Countries along the Belt and Road should integrate the two initiatives and assist the poor to participate in global economic activities to spur growth.
