German stocks lose 1.35 pct Wednesday

German shares lost on Wednesday, with the benchmark DAX index down 172.92 points, or 1.35 percent, to close at 12,631.61 points.

Housing association Vonovia lost 3.21 percent, the top loser among the blue chips, followed by Commerzbank and Deutsche Bank which lost 2.88 percent and 2.75 percent respectively.

Industrial giant Thyssenkrupp gained 2.97 percent, becoming the only gainer. German multinational software corporation SAP lost 0.25 percent. European mass media company ProSiebenSat.1 went down by 0.26 percent.

Deutsche Bank was the most traded share with a turnover of 314.17 million euros (349.26 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
