KANDAHAR, Afghanistan -- One civilian was killed and one dozen people wounded after a twin blasts rocked Kandahar city, capital of Afghanistan's southern province of Kandahar Tuesday night, the provincial government spokesman said on Wednesday.
"The first blast came in Chaok-e-Madad locality roughly at 8:30 p.m. local time Tuesday and the second explosion occurred minutes later when responding police was inspecting the site," spokesman Samim Khpalwak told Xinhua. (Afghanistan-Blasts)

BANGKOK -- The construction of Thailand-China railway project from Bangkok to Nakhon Ratchasima, which will be further extended to Nong Khai on the Thai-Lao border in the future, will start in 2017 for sure, Chatchai Thipsunaree, Permanent Secretary of Thailand's Ministry of Transport, said on Tuesday.
