Nigeria's economic hub Lagos is to host an international technology conference and expo TechPlus in July, attracting more than 100 domestic and foreign companies, organizers announced on Wednesday.

Participating companies, including from Nigeria, South Africa, China, France, the United States, will showcase technologies relating to major sectors at over 100 pavilions starting from July 8.

The expo with the theme "An Intelligent Future" will be exploring some of the major technology trends of the future such as augmented reality (AR), artificial intelligence, internet of things, workforce automation and digital disruption.

Taiwo Oyewole, TechPlus's General Manager, told Xinhua that the expo will showcase and promote understanding of how technology is evolving to meet the needs of a digital generation and modern business.

Over 10,000 delegates attended TechPlus, Africa's largest tech gathering, in 2016, where telecom heavyweights such as China's Huawei exhibited a wide range of products.

Over 50 conferences across five different stages, games, concerts and exhibitions will also be held during the event. Enditem
