German shares gain 0.29 pct Monday

German stocks rose on Monday, with the benchmark DAX index up 36.63 points, or 0.29 percent, to close at 12,807.04 points.

German energy group RWE won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 3.78 percent. Banking and financial services provider Commerzbank and Semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies rose by 2.63 percent and 2.45 percent respectively.

European mass media company ProSiebenSat.1 lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 4.48 percent. Chemical group BASF and European health care company Fresenius SE went down by 1.72 percent and 1.56 percent respectively.

BASF was the most-traded share with a turnover of 337.66 million euros (370.48 million U.S. dollars). Endit
