JSE slips as main indices tumble

The Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) closed marginally weaker on Monday, as the South Africa rand rebounded, exerting pressure on rand-hedge shares.
The South Africa rand recovered to R13.18 against the U.S. dollar at 5:00 p.m. (CAT).
The platinum price added 0.48 percent to 927.53 dollars an ounce as Brent Crude regained 2.42 percent to 52 dollars a barrel.
The all share index was off 0.02 percent at 54,052.18 points, with almost all the main indices in negative territory.
Among some individual stocks on the JSE, African Rainbow Minerals dropped 3.88 percent to R80.7 with Lonmin losing 11.56 percent to R17.91.
Bucking the trend, BHP Billiton gained 1.12 percent to R203.15. Naspers added 0.06 percent to R2, 733. Endit
