(BRF) China enhances international credibility of judicial system

Xinhua, May 15, 2017 Adjust font size:

China's top court publicized ten international commerce cases on Monday.

The cases cover issues including letters of credit, marine pollution compensation, and recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards.

According to Liu Jingdong, a senior judge with the Supreme People's Court, the handling of these cases offers guidance for unifying the standards of judgment and improving trial rules, and is significant for the security of business transaction.

Liu said all ten involve countries along the Belt and Road.

Proposed in 2013, the Belt and Road Initiative is a grand plan to connect Asia with Europe and Africa along, and beyond, ancient trade routes by putting in place an unparalleled trade and infrastructure network.

The top court publicized eight cases in July 2015 and urged courts at all levels to offer judicial services and guarantees to the Belt and Road Initiative. Endi
