The following are news highlights in South African major media outlets on Friday.

-- The Eskom board has confirmed that former CEO Brian Molefe will return to the power utility following a dispute about his pension payout.

Questions were raised about a R30 million (US$2.2 million) payout after Molefe resigned as CEO last year, following the Public Protector's State of Capture report.(Eyewitness News)

-- Protesters over poor housing have stoned a number of vehicles between Orange Farm and the Grasmere Toll Plaza overnight on the Golden Highway, south of Johannesburg.
