Chinese FM congratulates new foreign affairs secretary of Philippines

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Thursday congratulated Alan Peter Cayetano on his appointment as Foreign Affairs Secretary of the Philippines.

In his congratulatory message, Wang said that, with the joint efforts of both sides, China-Philippines relations have been improved in an all-round way since last year and cooperation in various fields has been resumed and made important achievements.

Currently, relations between China and the Philippines are facing rare development opportunities, he said.

Wang also expressed his willingness to build a good working relationship and maintain close communication and coordination with Cayetano to jointly push forward the sound and steady growth of China-Philippines relations. Endi
