Chinese shares close lower Wednesday

Chinese stocks closed lower Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.9 percent to end the day at 3,052.78 points.

The smaller Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.3 percent lower at 9,756.81 points. The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, ended 1.73 percent lower to close at 1,771.32 points. Endi
