10 countries qualify to Eurovision Song Contest final

Ten out of eighteen countries made it through to the final of the Eurovision Song Contest following the first semi-final in Kiev on Tuesday night.

Singers from Moldova, Azerbaijan, Greece, Sweden, Portugal, Poland, Armenia, Australia, Cyprus and Belgium will participate in the Grand Final, according to the results decided by the TV voters and a group of expert juries from the participating countries.

Another 18-nation semi-final will take place on May 11 to play out the ten remaining spots in the final.

The host country Ukraine, as well as the so-called "Big Five" of France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom, were granted the automatic right to participate in the Grand Final, which will be held on May 13.

The 62nd Eurovision Song Contest kicked off in Kiev on Sunday with the participation of singers from 42 countries. Endit
