3 hikers die in avalanche in southeast France

Three people, including a local guide, died in an avalanche in Bonneval-sur-Arc, southeastern France's Savoie whey they were involved in a hiking activity, French media reported on Tuesday.

The avalanche occurred around 10:30 a.m. local time, and three experienced hikers, including two men and a woman, died in the avalanche while climbing a corridor of a glacier near the border with Italy, according to BFM TV.

A local official has confirmed the death toll after the search for further possible victims ended, Le Parisien reported. Endit
