French shares gain 1.12 pct

French shares gained on Friday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 1.12 percent, or 59.98 points, to close at 5,432.40 points.

Of the 40 selected large companies, one lost in the day. French gas and power group Engie edged down 0.22 percent, the only loser of the blue chips.

Auto maker Peugeot rose 3.01 percent, the top gainer of the day. Telecomm operator Orange were up 2.74 percent. French oil and gas firm Technipfmc was up 2.58 percent. Endit
