German shares gain 0.55 pct

German stocks rose on Friday, with the benchmark DAX index up 69.11 points or 0.55 percent, to close at 12,716.89 points.

Multinational chemical firm Linde gained the most among the blue chips, by advancing 2.55 percent.

German global banking and financial services provider Commerzbank and industry giant Thyssenkrupp rose by 2.54 percent and 2.29 percent, respectively.

Merch, E.ON and Deutsche Boerse were the top three losers in the day, whose shares lost 0.94 percent, 0.74 percent and 0.35 percent, respectively.

German insurance and financial services company Allianz was the most traded share with a turnover of 288.06 million euros (315.74 million U.S. dollars). Endit
