China to enhance cooperation with Kyrgyzstan under Belt and Road initiative.

Xinhua, May 5, 2017 Adjust font size:

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said here Friday that China stands ready to enhance practical cooperation with Kyrgyzstan under the Belt and Road initiative.

Wang said the two countries are good neighbors, partners and friends during a meeting with his Kyrgyz counterpart Erlan Abdyldaev.

Diplomatic relations between China and Kyrgyzstan have maintained healthy and stable development since they were established 25 years ago, Wang said.

The bilateral strategic partnership has maintained sound development with deepened political mutual trust and expanded practical cooperation, he added.

Early this year, Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev in Beijing, Wang said, adding that the meeting injected new impetus into bilateral ties.

"China will strengthen cooperation on security and anti-terrorism with Kyrgyzstan and implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries," Wang said.

Abdyldaev said Kyrgyzstan firmly supports China to hold the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation and will actively participate in the Belt and Road initiative. Endi
