The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) index Friday moved down 4.03 points, or 0.26 percent to close at 1,569.02 points.
Some 6.75 billion shares worth 36.78 billion baht (about 1.07 billion U.S. dollars) changed hands.

MUMBAI -- Indian markets closed lower Friday.
Equity benchmarks continued to be sluggish, dragged by a fall in banks and metal shares.
The benchmark S&P BSE Sensex closed at 29,858.80, 267.41 points or 0.89 percent down compared to its previous close at 30,126.21.

JAKARTA -- Indonesian shares closed higher by 13.93 points, or 0.25 percent, to a level of 5,683.37 on Friday.
Some 413,583 transaction were booked, involving 10 billion copies of share with total value of 8.2 trillion rupiah (about 615.1 million U.S. dollars).
Gainers vs losers 153 to 117 while 114 remained stagnant.

KUALA LUMPUR -- The Malaysian stock market ended higher here on Friday.
The Kuala Lumpur Composite Index (KLCI) was at 1,762.74, up 4.07 points or 0.23 percent, and the Emas was at 12,597.53, up 35.88 points or 0.29 percent.
There were 185 gainers, 824 losers and 294 counters traded unchanged.

SINGAPORE -- Singapore stocks finished higher on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 1.11 points, or 0.03 percent, to close at 3,229.73.
A total of 4.20 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.17 billion Singapore dollars (832.43 million U.S. dollars). Decliners outnumbered gainers 281 to 195.
The STI index lost 9.19 points, or 0.28 percent, to close at 3,228.62 on Thursday.

VIENTIANE -- The Lao stock market closed on Friday unchanged compared to the previous trading day.
The Lao Securities Exchange composite index remained at 1,023.80 points after closing. A total of 45,900 shares worth about 234 million Lao kip (over 28,664 U.S. dollars) changed hands at the stock market.

HANOI -- Stock market index of Vietnam's capital Hanoi, HNX-Index, closed at 89.71 points on Friday, up 0.19 points, or 0.21 percent, against the previous closing session.
A total of over 48.367 million shares worth some 503.548 billion Vietnamese dong (some 22.28 million U.S. dollars) were traded at the Hanoi Stock Exchange on Friday, a decrease of 7.18 percent in volume and 7.69 percent in value against the previous closing session.

HONG KONG -- Hong Kong stocks closed down 207.53 points or 0.84 percent to 24,476.35 points on Friday.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index traded between 24,358.72 and 24,634.28. Turnover totaled 81.07 billion Hong Kong dollars (about 10.42 billion U.S. dollars).

HO CHI MINH CITY -- VN-Index, the stock market index of Ho Chi Minh (HCM) City bourse in south Vietnam, closed at 720 points on Friday, down 2.02 points or 0.28 percent against the previous trading day's closing session.
About 194.379 million shares worth 3.766 trillion Vietnamese dong (VND) (168.5 million U.S. dollars) changed hands at the southern HCM City Stock Exchange. Prices of 156 stocks went up, 107 stocks fell down, while 45 stocks remained unchanged.

PHNOM PENH -- Cambodia's stocks finished lower on Friday, with the Cambodia Securities Exchange Index down 2.4 points, or 0.7 percent, to close at 342.13.

SYDNEY -- The Australian share market has taken heavy losses at the close on Friday, as falling commodity prices hurt the energy and resource sectors, joined by a drop off in the financial sector.
At the market close, the S&P/ASX200 was down 39.8 points, or 0.68 percent, to finish at 5,836.60 points, while the broader scoped All Ordinaries index was down 40.7 points, or 0.69 percent, to end the day at 5,863.8 points. Endit
