Libyan PM stresses importance of 2015 political deal

Xinhua, May 5, 2017 Adjust font size:

Libyan Prime Minister Fayez Serraj on Thursday stressed the importance of the UN-sponsored December 2015 political agreement in ensuring stability in the North African country.

In a meeting with Martin Kobler, special representative of the UN secretary-general and head of UN Support Mission in Libya, Serraj said people have suffered enough and there is no more time for bargaining and stalling.

"Those who obstruct the political agreement must be aware their stubbornness is the main cause of the suffering of Libyans," Serraj said.

Kobler said the UN mission is to "develop a roadmap with binding deadlines for full consensus."
