German benchmark DAX index closes flat

The benchmark DAX index at Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Wednesday closed almost flat at 12,527.84 points with a slight gain of 19.94 points or 0.16 percent.

European health care company Fresenius SE gained the most among the blue chips, whose share went up by 2.54 percent, followed by Commerzbank and German multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer that increased by 1.42 percent and 1.40 percent respectively.

BMW, Volkswagen and E.ON were the top three losers of the day, whose shares lost 1.41 percent, 0.95 percent and 0.76 percent respectively.

German insurance and financial services company Allianz was the most traded share with a turnover of 481.94 million euros (about 526.23 million U.S. dollars). Endit
