Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said on Wednesday that he hopes to see a revised constitution go into effect in 2020 under a plan that will see the first-ever change to the post-war charter.

According to a recent poll by Japan's Kyodo News, 51 percent of the respondents were against any constitutional amendments under the Abe administration, while 45 percent were in favor.(Japan-Constitution)

ISLAMABAD -- The Pakistani army said Wednesday that four terrorists were hanged for their involvement in terrorism.

In March this year, the parliament approved a constitutional amendment to revive the military courts for two more years. The two-year term of the military courts expired in January.(Pakistan-Terrorists)

KABUL -- Eight civilians were killed and 27 others injured after a suicide bomber struck a foreign forces' military convoy in a diplomatic district in central Kabul on Wednesday, sources said.

The Afghan civilians continue to bear the brunt of armed conflicts as 715 civilians were killed and over 1,460 others injured in conflict-related incidents across Afghanistan in the first three months of the year, according to figures released by the UN mission in the country.
