Singaporean stocks close 0.83 pct higher

Singaporean stocks finished higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 26.7 points, or 0.83 percent, to close at 3,237.81.

A total of 1.54 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.22 billion Singapore dollars (877.49 million U.S. dollars). Decliners outnumbered gainers 255 to 198.

The STI index gained 35.67 points, or 1.12 percent, to close at 3,211.11 on Tuesday. Enditem
